...you are all invited! Vintage theme with modern twist BABY! All. The. Way!
Oh wow. Don't you love it when two of your favorite designers each put out their own fabric and pattern and you discover they are an absolute match made in heaven? I mean really!? Don't you love it!?!
So where do I start? WHERE DO I START!?! The fabric, the pattern, the fabric, the pattern. I love them both and I love the designers both. Okay random pick, I will start with the fabric.
Have you been anticipating Jennifer Paganelli's Circa fabric!? Were you expecting those gorgeous large florals!?! How many times did you click on that Circa icon on her blog? Come on, admit it. You were clicking daily. Large florals soft yet Sis Boom bright tones, oh so vintage modern. Love Circa!
Well Free Spirit started releasing Circa in waves in May. Which I think is so super nice because sometimes I don't get all the prints until they are almost gone! And you know how desperate that feeling is when you cannot find a Jennifer Pagenelli fabric! Can anyone say Loopy Vintage Floral???
Go get the current available Circa prints because they are going to go in a flash! Marie Madeline Studio has a healthy stock and selection so go check them out and stock up! When the July release comes out with the remaining prints in the line, everything is going to really go! Start collecting now so Jennifer won't be fielding emails 5 years from now asking for reprints of the Lily, or the Austin or the Lauren...you get the idea! It's here right now! Go! Sew it up, share it, THEN you can justify asking for those reprints later...GRIN! Love me some JP and I know you do too! She is one super sweet, fun awesome lady. So happy to call her my friend!
I love MODKID patterns.
I just love Patty Young's style. She really does design for the modern child. If you are a long term reader of mine you have seen me feature many of her paper and book patterns here on my blog. Her style resonates with me and my daughter. We both love the urban girly look she offers.
Well I am so happy to share with you that recently Patty has started releasing NEW patterns in PDF format! Oh wow! No waiting for the shipment to arrive, you find inspiration while browsing her Etsy shop online, just a few clicks and a print later, you are well on your way to creating a mod look for your girly! Now she is keeping her paper and PDF patterns separate so you will never see a PDF go paper or a paper go PDF. The brick and mortar quilt shops and online fabric and pattern shops have been so very good to her(and us!) she wants to honor them by ensuring they have a unique MODKID product in their shop. Patty is so awesome! Love her!
The Holly is my first MODKID PDF pattern I have sewn. It is written in the same style and format as her paper patterns. You know her paper patterns were some of the very first patterns I used. Can anybody say Kyoko??? Swoon! I am getting sidetracked but I had to put that out there, now back to Holly. I love the T-back design, the cross over straps and the drawstring gathered overskirt. It is modern with the T-back but yet very vintage and sweet with those drawstring gathers. What is not to love about this dress pattern?
Patty's Holly pattern steps you through the assembly very clearly just like her paper patterns. Something I have noticed not only in the Holly dress pattern but from the first four MODKID PDF patterns I have bought is that she does not make you print out rectangular pattern pieces. Not the big rectangles anyway. Can I get an Amen?!? Whew! I really love this practical aspect of her patterns. Just makes my life so much easier! You will love this too!
If you are already a MODKID fan, you are going to be very happy with her PDF patterns. If you have never sewn with a MODKID pattern, give one of her PDF patterns a whirl! And when you finish up a PDF, give one of her paper patterns a try too! Patty has so many options available for you! She has always been and always will be a favorite of mine. Love Patty Young, her creative mind and her fun loving spirit. If you have not discovered her now, it is high time you get started discovering!
So go visit the links I added above and buy yourself a MODKID pattern and some gorgeous Sis Boom fabrics. It's high time your Holly, Austin and Lily got together and had their own party!
